The Swiss industrial group ABB is currently making the largest organic investment in industrial automation in its history at the headquarters of B&R in Eggelsberg, Upper Austria.
ABB is committing about EUR 100 million to build a state-of-the-art innovation and training campus and thus lay the foundation for around 1,000 new high-tech jobs in Austria. ABB is an internationally leading supplier of digital technologies. ABB and Austria are linked by a close innovation partnership for industry of the future and the conviction that sustainability and economic success are not contradictions.
"Taking responsibility for the environment and future generations is a moral imperative for ABB since the company was established and is also an important basis for business. We already generate close to 60 percent of our worldwide revenue with solutions which protect the environment and counteract global warming. We are striving to increase this share once again in 2020. Our aim is to continue pressing ahead with the digital transformation of industry based on investments in the development of innovative solutions", emphasised Peter Voser, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of ABB in a meeting with Austrian Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz held at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
