Bluecode expands its partner network

Bluecode is a mobile payment solution linking touchless payments per smart phone with digital value-added services.

It enables payment via retail and banking applications. The startup can look forward to further important strategic partners. Since March 2021 epay, one of the leading full-service payment providers in the world, supports the Bluecode solution and offers it to its retail partners. On balance, the retailer network of epay encompasses 748,000 checkout areas in 57 countries. Bluecode cooperates with more than 300 financial institutions in Austria, including the Raiffeisen banks, the 3 Banken Group consisting of BKS, BTV and Oberbank, all the Volksbank banks as well as the Ärzte- und Apothekerbank. Furthermore, customers can pay with the Bluecode solution at all 215 OMV petrol stations in Austria as well as in 85 percent of food retail shops.

Customers make payments via their mobile phones or smart watches, either directly by using the Bluecode App or one of the Apps in which Bluecode is already integrated. A one-time valid and anonymous code is generated on the customer's mobile phone for the payment process. Then it is scanned at the cash desk like any other barcode. The relevant amount of money is deducted from the customer's current account. At the same time, vouchers, collector's passes and customer cards are automatically recognised.
