In 2019 Bosch made considerable investments of capital and human resources at its Austrian sites. It is attaching particular emphasis on R&D.
The German multinational Bosch has increased its R&D staff in Austria for the third straight year. "We hired more than 100 additional developers in 2019," said Helmut Weinwurm, who is the sole Management Board member of Bosch Austria. The company is continuing its future-oriented development projects in spite of the coronavirus crisis. Bosch operates important international development competence centres in the field of mobility technology at its sites in Vienna, Linz and Hallein. It invested more than EUR 140 million or ten percent of its revenue in research and development in the year 2019. Moreover, the company made investments of over EUR 19 million in Austria in the previous year, focusing on the modernisation of the infrastructure in the Hallein plant as well as in laboratory facilities and testing technology at its development locations in Vienna and Linz. "Austria has positioned itself as a significant location within the Bosch Group, and is considered to be an important developmental site for all types of drive systems", Weinwurm adds.
