The roll-out of the “One Belt, One Road” Initiative is fostering closer ties between China and Malaysia, and this, in turn, has opened up new opportunities for the development of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The cooperation between the two countries is accelerating, which has enabled Ningxia to share its delicious Islamic food with the world. At a meeting held on15 July 2015 between the Ningxia Ethnic Affairs Commission and Malaysia Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC), the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in Islamic beef and mutton production, and the building of new halal food brands.
