European Union – Travel and tourism in the time of COVID-19:European Commission launches the platform Re-open EU

On June 15, the European Commission has launched the web platform ‘Re-open EU‘ which provides real time information provided by Member States on borders, travel restrictions, public health and safety measures as well as other useful information on EU and tourism. The platform – also available as a mobile friendy version (web based app) – is a point of reference for travellers in the EU, allowing to browse country specific information, updates and travel advice for each EU state. The main goal is to help EU tourism and travel resume safely after the measures taken to manage the COVID-19 emergency.

The project was developed by the Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) and is part of the Commission’s Tourism and Transport package of 13 May 2020.
