The Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery will be at Eye of the Collector, London's boutique art fair today and tomorrow, 19-20 June.. The fair takes place at Two Temple Place, WC2R 3BD, the Jacobethan mansion created by William Waldorf Astor at the end of the Nineteenth Century.
The fair, created by visionary curator Nazy Vassegh, brings together choice works from across the artistic spectrum - design classics, modern masters, and contemporary stars. The Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery is represented by works from Carla Kranendonk, Nikoleta Sekulovic, Phil Shaw and Jason Shulman, along with two masterworks of aboriginal desert painting, by the artists Carol Young and Steven Mitakiki.
Amongst the pieces on view is Jason Shulman's Martini Top, a kinetic sculpture of gold-plated steel that subversively invests the iconic martini glass with a new beauty and unexpected fascination. When spun, the carefully balanced martini glass lilts and dances drunkenly around its polished oak tray, but always comes upright in the end. This is art to leave you both shaken and stirred.
