Foreign Minister Wang Yi Introduces Achievements of Xi Jinping’s Presidential Visits to Russia, the Republic of Belarus, and Kazakhstan

President Xi Jinping was invited to attend celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Great Patriotic War in Russia on 7-12 May 2015, visited Russia and Kazakhstan, and also made a visit to the Republic of Belarus. At the end of the visit, Foreign Minister Wang Yi introduced the visit to journalists. Wang Yi said, now, it is the beginning of summer, the season of thriving on all things, and President Xi Jinping started his visit in Eurasia. The visit focused on two major topics, the first one is to solemnly mark the 70th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War, to maintain peace and international justice, and defend the international order on the basis of Charter of the United Nations; the second one is to further promote political mutual trust and practical cooperation among China, Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, to accelerate match-making and fusion between silk road economic belt and other three countries’ development strategies.
