Are you an employee of ADGM or ADGM registered entities?
Would you like to protect the well-being of those you care for most?
In partnership with Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (“ADJD”), ADGM Courts have now expanded the notary public services for the benefit of the ADGM community. These new services allow for the notarisation of Wills for non-Muslim employees of the ADGM community. The expansion of these services has been made possible by the Undersecretary of ADJD, H.E Yosuf Al Abri, pursuant to Administrative Decision No. (117) of 2020.
What Has Changed?
This development enables the non-Muslim ADGM community to have their Wills notarised conveniently at the ADGM Courts’ Notary Public and Wills Office. The Wills can include disposition of estate and guardianship of minor children clauses.
Not many of us realise how important it is to appoint a guardian for minor children – and the will care address that aspect, as well.

The authorities’ fees to register this type of a will are nomina: AED 950 (ADJD) + USD 100 (ADGM Courts).
Assets and Home Country Law
The Notary Public can notarise a will if the assets are located within the UAE as well as those located outside the UAE. However, any grant of probate will be made in the jurisdiction in which the assets are located and therefore, it is pertinent to note that if you hold real estate assets in the UAE, you secure a UAE will.
