Refurbed: Skype founder Zennström acquires stake in a Viennese startup

The Viennese tech startup Refurbed is getting a financial injection of more than EUR 2 million close to wo years after its founding.

Investors include Inventure Partners, which committed EUR 1.4 million, as well as Atomico from Skype founder Niklas Zennström. Inventure Partners has invested in more than 40 startups, for example the Uber competitor GETT as well as the large online watch retailer Chronext.

Refurbed is an online trading platform in which completely overhauled smart phones, tablet PCs, laptops and other electronic products which are as good as new are marketed. Refurbed currently offers its services in Austria, Germany, Poland and Italy. The company says it has attracted about 30,000 customers since it was established.
