Argentine Chamber of Commerce for Asia and the Pacific

The Argentine Chamber of Commerce for Asia and the Pacific came to existence in 1991 as an initiative of a group of companies with leading participation in commercial activities with several countries of Southern and Eastern Asia.

The purpose of this Chamber is to promote the exchange and the trade relationship between the local entrepreneurship and the countries of the Asia – Pacific Basin, currently the main market for Argentine products, as well as to overcome the mutual differences and the lack of information, particularly those derived from languages, habits and business practices.

The Chamber constitutes a place to meet, study and create strategic projects for common development. While this is a “Regional Chamber”, each country counts with an exclusive Bilateral Chapter, where specific interests and those related to each relationship are analyzed and developed. Listed in alphabetical order, these chapters are:

In addition, within the Chamber, there is a Business Promotion Committee between Argentina and Taiwan.

The Chamber organizes business missions, meetings and seminars, delivers courses, and coordinates business groups and workshops. It also prepares statistics, newsletters and several publications, provides advise and information on their own specialty to officers and public organizations interested in trade activities between Argentina and the Asia Pacific Region countries.

The Chamber acts as host and welcomes those businessmen of the Asia – Pacific Basin visiting the Argentine Republic, collaborates with the preparation of their agendas, generates contacts with the interest groups, and coordinates business meetings and interviews with Argentine counterparts interested in becoming business partners, or simply materializing agreements on imports and exports with a specific region.

The Chamber also represents the private sector standing for the preparation of the agendas of the Bilateral Meetings between the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs of each country members of the Asia – Pacific Basin, and ensures continued presence in the inter-governmental meetings representing the Argentine entrepreneurship.

The Chamber has a close link with the Asia - Pacific countries embassies’ commercial offices, consulates, other chambers and similar entities of the countries in the same area dedicated to trade promotion and exchange. It coordinates several activities whose purpose is the growth of common business and the facilitation of activities of the Argentine entrepreneurship. Similarly, it actively contributes to approach culture, dialogue and mutual knowledge between the countries in the region and Argentina.

Among the partners of the Chamber there are companies involved in foreign trade, banks and finance, sea and air transportation, insurance, tourism, education, electricity, oil and gas, mining, investment, food industry, equipment and machinery production, distribution, commercialization, legal services, tax advice, etc.
