JAMPRO - Jamaica’s investment and export promotion agency - serves as a catalyst for wealth creation in Jamaica by promoting business opportunities in export and investment to the local and international private sector. This process is driven through a focus on a number of targeted sectors including Manufacturing, Tourism, Mining, Information and Communications Technology, Logistics, Energy, Agri-business and the Creative Industries (film, music, fashion etc.). In facilitating the implementation of investment and export projects, the organization is a key policy advocate and advisor to the Government in matters pertaining to the improvement of Jamaica’s business environment and the development of new industries.
Established in 1988, JAMPRO is an Agency of the Government of Jamaica’s Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce. The agency has blazed an impressive track record of connecting the global investment and business community with opportunities in Jamaica. JAMPRO is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce; and headed by a President who directs the day-to-day operations of the Agency, which are organized around the following functional divisions:
Since 2004, JAMPRO has been adjudged as the Best Trade Promotion Organisation (TPO) from a Small Island Developing State by the International Trade Centre, and as a leading Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
