Kabil Industrial Estate (KIE) started in 1990 with a comprehensive master plan for for a 180-hectares development which would include Batam’s first 6-hectare self-sustaining water reservoir cum water treatment plant.
It continued to grow with power plants, port facilities, natural gas supply and telecommunication expansions over the years.
KIE occupies 180 ha of prime land specially set aside for light, medium and heavy industries. The abundance of facilities and infrastructure makes it ideal for businesses to site their manufacturing operations at KIE.
A 5-minute drive away is Bantam’s Hang Nadim International Airport, a modern airport able to accommodate jumbo jet aircraft and is the major terminal for cargo in and out of Indonesia.
Travelling to KIE from Singapore is a convenient 25 minutes ferry ride from the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal (TMFT) to Nongsapura Ferry Terminal (NFT). Ferries depart from TMFT and NFT every 2 hours from 8.00 am to 8.15 pm daily.
