Why do Business in Las Vegas?

The Las Vegas Valley offers unparalleled low costs and global connectivity for businesses that call Southern Nevada home. Nevada has long maintained a business-friendly policy of keeping key taxes low. Overall operating costs are among the lowest in the region.

Businesses in the Las Vegas Valley also have a high level of connectivity to global markets through the region’s air, road, rail, and fiber connections within the U.S. West. Because of that connectivity, the Las Vegas Valley attracts a diverse and talented workforce from around the world while continuing to be one of the fastest-growing metropolitan regions in the United States.

Foreign Trade Zone

The LVGEA is the US Department of Commerce grantee to operate Foreign Trade Zone No.89 in Southern Nevada to ease the import and export of goods to Nevada.

In a Foreign Trade Zone, a business can:

  • Import finished goods for sale or consumption in the United States
  • Import finished or partly finished goods for reconfiguration to sell domestically or internationally
  • Importing components or materials for manufacturing & marketing in the United States or internationally
  • Using the foreign trade zone, you can import some components of your products, assemble the finished product in the United States, and distribute them all over the world

Foreign Direct Investment

The LVGEA facilitates Chinese investment in Las Vegas through its networks of partnerships with government and private sector businesses.

As a recent example of how the LVGEA acts as a gateway for Chinese investment, the LVGEA assisted East West Bank in expanding its operations to Las Vegas.
