The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is located in the northwest border area of China. Xinjiang province is 2000 km long, and 1650 km wide, which makes it 1/6 of the total land area of China. Xinjiang province borders numerous countries such as, Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. It has a boundary line of more than 5600 km, which makes up 1/4 of the total land boundaries of China. Most importantly, Xinjiang holds the most number of ports opening China to the world.
