In May 2017, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing that China will host China International Import Exposition (CIIE) starting from 2018. The first CIIE will be held in Shanghai during November 5th to 10th, 2018. It represents an important move of China to open its market and promote trade, while also serving as a platform for international cooperation for all countries to showcase their development achievements and discuss global economic and trade issues.
The exposition is jointly organized by Ministry of Commerce of China and Shanghai government, along with WTO, UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) and UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development). It includes two parts: comprehensive exhibition for nation trade and investment, and business exhibition (for both goods trade and service trade).
Above a hundred companies globally which are interested in the economic and trade cooperation will participate in the expo. Participants are exposed to high-end electronic devices, household appliance, medical machine, innovative design and so forth.
To take advantage of the CIIE and receive great exposure, Swiss companies can be part of the Swiss Pavilion. More information about the Swiss Pavilion and sponsorship opportunities can be found here:
