China Outbound Investment Discussion: Opportunities and Challenges

On Wednesday, August 28th, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Emerging China and Angelvest Group will hold a panel discussion entitled "Chinese Outbound Investment: Opportunities and Challenges. The event is supported by the China-Arizona Alliance, the Chicago China Club, the State of Oregon China Office, and the State of Mississippi China Office.

The panel discussion is sponsored by Hogan Lovells, ranked number for M&A law firms globally.

The panel discussion participants are:

  • Ye Yin, COO, BGI
  • Basillio Chen, CEO, Evotech, Author of M&A in the USA for Chinese Companies.
  • Xiaoming Chen, Venture Capital Partner at Sino-Euro Capital Ning Sun, Hogan Lovells

Ye Yin led BGI's buy out of Complete Genomics (GNOM). Basillio Chen has written a how to guide for Chinese companies to purchases companies in the US. Xiaoming Chen has been funding acquisitions and new ventures in the US and Europe and Sun Ning is with Hogan Lovells which was ranked number one for M&A law firms globally.

The discussion panel will start after drinks and networking at 7:15 p.m. and will be in Q&A format. It will cover the key issues Chinese companies should be aware of when venturing overseas and how to foster the sustainable development of Chinese companies globally.

The China-Arizona Alliance aims to promote exchanges and cooperation in business, science and technology, culture, and education between Arizona and China. The alliance also facilitates Chinese enterprises expand their overseas operations to Arizona.

The China Chicago Club established in 2004, is a non-profit, non-governmental, informal social and business networking group to promote Chicago-China interests.

Emerging China is a non-profit organization focused on nurturing the healthy expansion of Chinese companies globally. We do so by providing our members the resources and knowledge necessary for effective execution of overseas markets development.

The State of Mississippi China Office was launched in 2003 to assist Chinese investors with making investments into the State of Mississippi. As part of this effort, we provide environment updates and investment opportunities. Besides our strong automotive sector, steel, aerospace, clean energy and warehousing have drawn worldwide investor attention.
