Debtwire Australia Restructuring Forum 2019

Date: 17 Oct 2019
Location: Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney

Debtwire’s Australia Forum returns to Sydney in October 2019 for a half day of discussions on the risks, rewards, and market trends shaping the region’s distressed debt and credit opportunities.

Agenda:

12:00 Registration & networking lunch

13:00 Opening speech

13:10 Panel discussion - Emerging opportunities for non-bank lenders

Growth of non-bank lenders covering the commercial and regulatory aspects. The session will also discuss the opportunities for non-bank lenders across different industries and lending structures (eg unitranche, TLBs etc). Use the examples of Prospa and Afterpay to highlight the growth potential and challenges associated with innovation in the industry. The session could also look ahead to assess the impact of lower interest rates and RBA’s lending relaxations on non-bank lending.

14:00 Panel Discussion - Case Study on Axsesstoday

Will help illustrate the risks of growing too fast with weak under writing standards. Is there a moral hazard for excessive growth i.e. misprice to get higher volumes. The session could possibly also examine how well capitalized these platforms are. Also, maybe extrapolate to other cases like Silver Chef and Eclipx which are selling their businesses to survive.

14:50 Afternoon tea

15:10 Panel discussion - Sector spotlight: Restructuring in retail and parallels with the UK

Restructuring in retail and parallels with the UK: Compare with the UK experience of restructuring retail companies.
