A Ministerial delegation from Jamaica will be attending the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, from November 5-7, 2018.
The delegation will consist of Minister Audley Shaw, Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries (MICAF), Minister Daryl Vaz, Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation in the Office of the Prime Minister, Mr. Metry Seaga, Chairman of the Jamaica Economic Zone Authority (JSEZA) and Ms. Diane Edwards, President of Jamaica Promotions Corporations (JAMPRO). In keeping with Jamaica’s goal of fostering increased investment and trade with China, the delegation is keen on meeting with companies that are interested in doing business with Jamaica.
Jamaica’s sectors of focus include Mining (limestone and marble), Special Economic Zone (SEZ) development and operation, logistics, and light manufacturing (Final-stage assembly). Companies interested in knowing more about the opportunities in any of these sectors are invited to visit the Jamaica booth on November 6 at 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. for the “Do Business Jamaica” conversations, which will include discussions with the Ministers and other Officials. This will give Chinese business persons an opportunity to speak directly with the Ministers and their technical team.
