Workshop: “Doing Business in Switzerland”

Date: 10 Jan 2013
Location: Fairmont Hotel, Beijing

Switzerland is one of the most attractive business locations in the world. The Swiss government has an explicit policy of welcoming foreign investment, is optimistic about the prospect of Chinese investment, and is willing to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

This Workshop was co-hosted by Wenger & Vieli and ChinaGoAbroad, and was endorsed by the Embassy of Switzerland in Beijing and the Swiss Business Hub in Beijing to provide a platform to create better networks, understanding and communication among Chinese and Swiss entities.

Real case studies involving Chinese companies, as well as practical frameworks and guidelines on investing in Switzerland, were presented by three highly experienced attorneys from Wenger & Vieli. Yannick Roulin, the Counsellor of the Embassy of Switzerland in Beijing, and Alain Graf, Head of the Swiss Business Hub in Beijing, provided insight into the opportunities available, and benefits of investing, in Switzerland.

The Workshop was hailed as a great success by the large number of attendees from various government agencies (e.g., Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China International Chamber of Commerce for the Private Sector), Chinese SOEs (e.g., China Development Bank, China Minsheng Banking Corporation) and private enterprise, research institutions, investment groups, service providers and media groups.
