Stanley Ko is the founder and President of Albarka Africa Investments (Pty) Ltd. Albarka is an Africa-focused organisation that supports the developmental phases of mining, manufacturing and agriculture projects. The name "Albarka" means "blessings" in Hausa; a representation of his feelings to his previous employer, Alhaji Aliko Dangote from whom he managed to learn so much about business aptitude.
Before the establishment of Albarka Africa Investments, he was the Investment Director of IOSSC Sustainable Development Africa Investment Fund based in South Africa
Dr. Ko has also previously held the following positions:
Director of Strategy and Business Development for Dangote Industries Ltd. at its Lagos headquarters;
Lafarge's Regional Vice President for the Sub-Sahara Africa and the Gulf Nations;
Project Director for Lafarge South Africa's cement capacity expansion; and
General Manager for a forestry company in the Republic of Congo.
During his career which spans more than 30 years, Dr. Ko has worked in a variety of industries (e.g., agriculture commodities, mining, cement industry, construction chemicals, forest and plywood, strategic international trading and logistics). He has extensive experience in conceiving large-scale projects, project financing, project implementation, M&A, post-acquisition integration, and strategic international trading. Dr. Ko holds a DBA from the University of Western Australia, an MBA from Leicester University (UK) and a Diploma in Building from Singapore Polytechnic. He has also received executive training at Harvard Business School, INSEAD France, and IMD Switzerland. Dr. Ko is also a JCI Senator. He speaks English, Chinese (Mandarin and 3 dialects), and French.
