Mr Grice is a senior international business adviser and lawyer with over 25 years cross-border experience of telecoms, infrastructure, mining, energy and transport projects and financings in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Australia.

Mr Grice graduated in Asian history, Japanese and law and is qualified as a lawyer in Hong Kong, England and Australia.  He has held partner, general counsel and business development roles with Baker & McKenzie, White & Case, Cable & Wireless PLC and Intelligent Energy PLC and other firms. He was also Deputy State Solicitor for the government of Western Australia, managing the State’s major infrastructure, oil and gas and mineral investment projects.

Signature projects Mr Grice has worked on include:

  • $4 billion Oakajee port and rail PPP Project for iron ore mines in Western Australia;
  • $2 billion Fiona Stanley Hospital ECI project in Perth, Australia;
  • Cable & Wireless' $600 million acquisition of IDC in Japan, Euromoney's M&A deal of the year in 1999;
  • strategic bids for Binariang, Maxis, Mitratel and Satelindo in Malaysia and Indonesia;
  • the privatisation of Telkom South Africa and the establishment South Africa’s telecoms regulatory authority;
  • the Batam Island Waste to Energy PPP Project in Indonesia sponsored by the ADB;
  • InterOil’s development of the Elk Antelope natural gas project in Papua New Guinea;
  • Singapore Telecom’s construction of a $US2 billion 7.8 terabit subsea cable network linking Singapore with the major cities of East and Southeast Asia;
  • Jupiter Telecom’s $2 billion off-balance sheet financing, US$500 million high yield debt financing and dual listing on Nasdaq and the Tokyo Stock Exchange;
  • $700 million financing of the ‘Shajiao C’ coal-fired power plant in Guangdong, China;
  • US$933 million financing of the ‘Pagbilao’ 700MW coal-fired power plant in the Philippines by the IFC, ADB, JBIC, CDC and commercial banks.

Most recently, Mr Grice has been working in the hydrogen fuel cell, clean energy and FinTech sectors and advising on blockchain and cryptocurrency ventures in Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Japan and Mongolia.
