James Hsu is the SVP of Legal and Business Affairs at Tilting Point, a seasoned core team of industry professionals that leverages their expertise and resources in collaboration with talented independent game software developers worldwide to bring to market original, award-winning games on iTunes, Google Play and other mobile/digital platforms.
He is a highly experienced corporate and commercial lawyer with extensive background in structuring and negotiating all types of complex public and private transactions, with emphasis on TMT matters and billions of dollars in completed deals throughout North America, Asia, and Europe. Prior to Tilting Point, Mr. Hsu was a co-founding member of the legal team at online and mobile games pioneer Zynga (NASDAQ: ZNGA) in San Francisco, where he was lead counsel for all types of commercial and corporate transactions. As the company quadrupled in size over three years, his work included advising on strategic acquisitions and growth partnerships in China and Japan. He joined Zynga from global video games publisher Electronic Arts (NYSE: EA), where he was lead counsel for all of EA’s worldwide mergers & acquisitions and managed Asia legal affairs.
Mr. Hsu was previously a senior lawyer in private practice with the corporate/mergers & acquisitions group at Skadden, Arps (New York and Silicon Valley offices). He is admitted to practice in California and New York and is a graduate of Stanford University (Palo Alto) and Columbia Law School (New York), where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a Senior Editor of the Columbia Law Review.
