Paul Eric Mason is an international commercial lawyer, arbitrator, and mediator formerly affiliated with Veirano Advogados in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, one of Brazil's leading law firms.
Since 1986, he has served as an arbitrator, mediator, and legal counsel for international commercial disputes at the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (São Paulo), ICC (Paris), AAA and ICDR (New York), LCIA (London), and WIPO (Geneva.) He also serves as an arbitrator with the Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC) and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), and a certified mediator with the Singapore International Mediation Centre. At the AAA, he chaired an arbitral tribunal that heard a U.S. $39m dispute involving Chinese parties and served on another AAA tribunal in an arbitration with a Chinese company. In 2015 he was invited to give a lecture on international arbitration in Latin America at Tsinghua Law School and at the HKIAC.
Previously, he served as the Legal and Government Affairs Director/Latin America and Russia for IT multinationals Digital Equipment Corporation, Oracle, and 3Com. In addition to English, he is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and proficient in Russian.
