Dr. Pierre van der Eng is Associate Professor in International Business at the Research School of Management, Australian National University. He focuses his research on economic and business development in Indonesia and headquarter-subsidiary relations in multinational enterprises in Australia. Prior to re-joining the Research School of Management in 2015, Dr. van der Eng was seconded as a Senior Fellow in Economics at the ANU Crawford School, and Deputy Director of the ANU Centre for European Studies. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, and served as:
Vice-President of the Australia and New Zealand International Business Academy;
Treasurer of the Economic History Society of Australia and New Zealand; and
Editor of the Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies and the Australian Economic History Review.
His research has been funded by the Australian Research Council, and the Shibusawa Foundation (Tokyo).
