Tong has advised senior company executives on some of the most high profile corporate crises in China, including CITIC Pacific, when it announced HKD 18 billion losses stemming from unauthorised leveraged foreign exchange contracts, and the GOME Board and Shanshui Cement’s Board in their respective proxy fight with major shareholders.
An expert advisor in high intensity corporate situations, Tong has built-up a wealth of knowledge and experience on complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, most notably advising on Yum! Brands' acquisition of a Chinese food chained store, CP Group’s acquisition of Ping An equity shares from HSBC, CGN’s entry as Nuclear Power Plant Financial and Operator to the UK market and recently the announced sale of OOIL to COSCO and the merge of CNBM with Sinoma.
Her clients also include the major PE firms of Silverlake and Bain Capital, as well as private elites like Geely Group and and Li Ning Co.
Prior to joining Brunswick, Tong helped establish a Hong Kong based investment fund having previously headed investor relations and financial communications for a Hong Kong listed red chip company. Tong also served as senior strategy consultant at Cap Gemini and Ernst & Young Singapore, and has extensive in-house experience with British Aerospace and TRW.
