Improvement of 193 km of Highway 5, with expansion of capacity (third lanes) in the areas around the cities of Talca and Chillán and a bypass for Talca. Important repair of existing surfacing, corrections to route to increase speed of traffic flow, new bridges and segments of service roads, improvement of eastwest access through flyovers and new roads. Includes the incorporation of electronic toll collection (free-flow).
Expansion to two lanes in each direction of Road 199-CH in the Freire-Villarrica segment, with a length of 48.3 km, continuing with a new 37.3-km road that starts as a bypass around the southwest of the city of Villarrica, goes on to Pucón by a road parallel to the current one which runs alongside the lake and connects with Road 199-CH to the east of Pucón, near the western end of its aerodrome.

Located in the Ñuble Region, this project consists of a concrete face rockfill dam (CFRD), with a concrete slurry wall on its upstream side. Height of wall: 85 m; length of upper edge: 430 m; area flooded: 424 ha; area of irrigation: 10,000 ha.
