The President of Chile, Gabriel Boric Font, announced the National Lithium Strategy this Thursday on national television, broadcast from La Moneda Palace. The document presents the main points proposed by the government to take advantage of the mineral’s potential for Chile. Our country possesses 45% of global reserves and is the second largest producer in the world after Australia.
Latin America’s largest mining fair has become a space for promoting sharing knowledge, experiences, and especially technology that contributes to innovation and increased productivity in mining processes. All of these make it a great platform that showcases global opportunities here in Chile.

The National Evaluation and Productivity Commission (CNEP) received a new mandate from the Government of Chile to analyze priority sectoral permits for investment, identify barriers in the process, and propose improvements in their efficiency, predictability, and stability. The purpose of this study is to obtain the necessary information to develop policies that boost productivity in sectoral permits.
Chilean Economy Minister Nicolás Grau said the figures are a “good sign for the Chilean economy,” as they reflect investor confidence in the country and help create more and better jobs.
The South American country is the world’s second largest lithium producer after Australia and holds approximately 45% of global reserves of this mineral, which means that new business opportunities will undoubtedly emerge over the coming years.
The President made this statement at the InvestChile 2022 International Forum, an event that brings together more than one hundred representatives of companies from 28 countries with investment projects worth US$ 4 billion.
More than 100 representatives of 81 companies from 30 countries will gather in Santiago on December 5, 6, and 7 to find out more about investment opportunities in Chile.
