Asia Sustainable & Responsible Capital Market Forum 2018
26 Sept (Hong Kong)
The need for sustainable finance in Asia is vast. Globally, economic development and urbanisation between now and 2030 will require huge investment – estimated at $89tn. A huge proportion of this investment work is going to be done in Asia, which has many of the world's biggest and fastest growing economies.
It is vital therefore that sustainability considerations become central to the region's capital markets. That process has begun. Asian companies' sustainability ratings have begun to rise, showing that CEOs in the region are paying more attention. But there is still much to be done.
Euromoney's Asia Sustainable & Responsible Capital Markets Forum 2018 is our newest event, bringing together experts from across the Asia Pacific region, and from Europe and North America, to grapple with the questions of how to accelerate the greening of Asia's capital markets.
Key topics will focus on:
The revitalization of Northeast China: Economic and Investment Opportunities
Shenyang in Focus: Bridging the gap with National Strategy
The future of Intelligent Manufacturing in Northeast China and the pivotal role of Shenyang
How is innovation changing businesses: New industries and future trends
Fintech trends in China and the opportunities and challenges ahead
FDI and Chinese ODI in China’s New Normal
How to make your business a success in Shenyang

Sino-Swiss Economic Forum 2018
6 Sept (Beijing)
On the occasion of the official visit of Federal Councillor Johann N. Schneider-Ammann in the company of a mixed economic delegation, SwissCham Beijing, in association with the Embassy of Switzerland in the People's Republic of China, is delighted to announce the 5th edition of the Sino-Swiss Economic Forum 2018 [SSEF 2018].
The SSEF 2018 will focus on free trade by concentrating on more specific topics. More than three years since the enactment of the Free Trade Agreement between Switzerland and China (FTA), trade flows between the two countries have been growing robustly. The number of companies making use of the FTA is increasing, but so do the complaints and the demand for improvements in the execution of the FTA.

EY Europe Attractiveness Survey: Game changers of 2018
Ernst & Young
Foreign direct investment (FDI) is part of Europe's economic lifeblood.
EY's Europe attractiveness survey has been tracking these investment decisions since 2000. Investors' strong enthusiasm for Europe comes against a backdrop of accelerating growth in both developed and emerging markets, and recovering global trade flows.
The accelerating pace of growth in projects recorded over the past three years (averaging annual growth of 15%) has markedly slowed (10% between 2016 and 2017). This changing dynamic was influenced by four powerful under-currents, which we think are true game changers.
China Green Bond Market Mid-Year Report 2018
Climate Bonds Initiative
The proportion of green bonds that are not aligned with international green bond definitions has increased, making up 28% of the total green bond issuance from China in the first half of the year. On a very positive note, disclosure seems to be less of an issue compared to 2017, with fewer exclusions due to insufficient information on the use of proceeds.
In this report, we elaborate on the Climate Bonds green bond database screening methodology. The Climate Bonds Initiative screens self-labelled green bonds for inclusion in the CBI Green Bond Database in three steps: (1) identify green-themed, labelled bond; (2) screen the projects or assets for alignment with the Climate Bonds Taxonomy; (3) evaluate the use of proceeds.
