Total consideration for the transaction is US$1.846 billion.

Recent M&A team deals

Freehills M&A team is advising on a number of recent matters that were announced in October. Freehills is advising:

  • ASX Limited on the proposed $8.4 billion takeover by the Singapore Exchange
  • Perpetual Limited on the $1.7 billion offer for the company by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts
  • Prime Infrastructure in relation to its $1.8 billion merger with Brookfield Infrastructure
  • China Minmetals Non-Ferrous Metals Company Limited on its US$1.8 billion sale of various assets to Minmetals, and

China Overseas Investment Fair 2010

  • Freehills and TransAsia Lawyers presented at the China Overseas Investment Fair (held 2–3 November 2010 in Beijing) on topics of Chinese foreign investment and inbound investment in to the Australian resources and agribusiness sectors.
  • The Fair was hosted by the China Industrial Overseas Development & Planning Association (and supported by TransAsia Lawyers) and was designed to showcase investment opportunities in all foreign jurisdictions where Chinese entities have invested or are looking to invest.
