Climate Bonds Initiative
Despite that the issuance of USD8.5bn in Q3 2018 represents a 9% drop from the USD9.4bn in Q3 2017, the total amount of green bond issued during Q3 2018 reached USD21.5bn, up from the USD20.9bn in Q3 2017.
It was found that 49% (or USD4.2bn) of quarterly volume from Chinese issuers was aligned with international green bond definitions, whilst the rest was excluded in accordance with the CBI Green Bond Database Methodology.
Bahrain: Higher FDI, but fiscal constraints linger

Bahrain’s economic growth is projected to slow to 3.2% in 2018 from 3.8% in 2017 on the back of fiscal tightening.
Oil GDP is expected to remain flat after a 0.3% contraction in 2017 and just 0.1% growth in 2016. Oil production remains depressed by capacity constraints and declining output at the onshore Bahrain field. The 2018 breakeven oil price for Bahrain is USD 95.2, above the current market price of OPEC’s basket.
