From Amazon to Volkswagen, world leading companies are recognizing Greece as a new hub of innovation.
Greece's pioneering smart mobility project on the island of Astypalea has moved into high gear, with the first Volkswagen electric vehicles undergoing test drives, a special subsidy program being in place, and leading Greek banks rolling out special lending programs to support the project.
Even as Greek exports continue to grow, the country’s food and beverage producers could see enormous growth prospects as they expand further in overseas markets. According to a National Bank of Greece study, Greek exporters could boost the value of exports by as much as €13 billion by adopting new technology, better branding and through other efforts.
Long one of Greece’s leading tourist destinations with more than 5 million visitors a year, foreign investors have been increasingly investing in Crete’s hospitality sector. More than half-a-dozen major hotel and resort deals have been announced in the last year, while Greece’s privatization agency is moving ahead with one of the country’s most eagerly awaited property sales on the island’s north shore.
